Imagine being 15 years old in a small town in Michigan. You feel as though your only future is to imitate the heterosexual, patriarchal life of the generation before you. Today’s guest, Dr. Julie Enszer, found a lifeline in a copy of the feminist magazine Heresies. She says the magazine promised a life of creativity and freedom. Since that discovery, Julie has become a national voice as a poet, scholar, and editor of Sinister Wisdom, a lesbian literary and art journal.
